Our View

If we are going to save the planet we all have to do our bit. Governments have to do the most but I’m not holding my breath. So we will do what we can to minimise the impact we have on the environment and if it it costs us a few quid and you as well so be it. It’s a shared responsibility and we want to make it as fair as possible so we will do what we can, be as transparent as possible and take on all advice we are given. Seriously, if you have any ideas on how we can improve let us know. In the meantime don’t let up on your chosen political party, they can really drive meaningful change.

What are we doing

This is where we get a bit flakey. We want to make sure it’s easy for you to recycle so click here to find out how to do this at Swale View. But of course you may already be ahead of us and have found out where to do this locally which is great. Please follow local guidance closely as this could well differ from what you have to do at home.

We are looking at how we can manage the property in a more environmentally friendly way. So for example, how we clean the house, what equipment we leave for you to use while you are here. Are the toiletries as ‘green‘ as possible? What electricity do we use? (Octopus) Is calor gas the best option for heating the house? How does coal figure in all this? Honestly, we are tackling all of these as best we can and will get there! Personally given how windy it can be and the power of the water locally we should be able to do something to minimise our impact!

Hey! We also have our amazing, but somewhat delicate, septic tank system which means we place no burden on any other services in terms of removing waste. But we know there is more we can do so….

Update Some good news on our toiletries. We are now using refillable containers for all our hand soap dispensers. And we have stopped supplying hair and shower gel as most people bring their own anyway. We are getting there.
